
This is someone else’s story, so I might not get the details exactly right. But I loved the message.
A friend was driving in the country and saw a pasture with a low fence, such as for keeping cows from wandering off. Behind the fence was a cow elk. The elk was easily big enough to be able to clear the fence because of her strength and size. But she stayed domestically behind the fence.
My friend heard the thought, “Who does she think she is?” She had no idea of her capacity, only her limitations.
Sometimes we have learned to live behind the fence when we clearly have the capacity to move beyond. Who do you think you are?
