I have a confession to make – I love SharePoint. We have a company website. It works for some things – like if you don’t know anything about us and need a starting place. But when it becomes all things to all people, it becomes unwieldy. Like 18,000 pages unwieldy.
Maybe I like having a place where I can put shared resources for an internal audience – instead of hoarding them all myself. Maybe I like having a place where other people can find stuff when I’m not around – even if they tend to ask me anyway. Maybe I like having an easy way to be creative – building a new site is like playing with Lego™ blocks. Maybe I like creating a really simple, but attractive website – if for no other reason that it looks fresh and new.
Alas, not everyone shares my love for this beautiful art form, but I build for myself. What do you like building or making?
