“We can always start again”
message on a tea bag

Recently I saw a post from someone on one of those “100 day” challenges. She was lamenting not getting to the gym in the morning and now she had to go before bed. Otherwise tomorrow she would be starting over at day 0/100. While I appreciate the incentive of the gamification strategy, I don’t think I would throw in the (gym) towel just yet. Let’s say she missed a day but then continued back on her resolution after that. After 100 days, if she accomplished her goal 99 times, or even 89 times, out of 100, would that not be worth something? (Yes, I realize there are situations where this logic does not apply.)
Yes, it becomes easy to miss another day and yet another. However, it is also possible to cry defeat because of a set back and stop trying.
No matter how many times we have stopped working on our goals, we can always start again.
