Reflection

A critical aspect of learning involves reflection. It is not enough to just accumulate knowledge. It must be examined and connected to other things we know. Theoretical knowledge must be connected to real world application. We need to “connect the dots.” It requires intention and focus instead of mindless autopilot.

At the culmination of a year (a calendar year, a life year) or a season of life, I like to stop and reflect on the past season. Where did I start? What have I learned? Where am I now? Where do I hope to be going?
