“Spam Risk”

I seem to have a new friend. Their name is “Spam Risk.” They call me fairly regularly (caller ID lets me know). I’m not sure when we met or how they got my phone number. But I’m sure they have something good to offer me that will enrich my life.

I realize that people in our lives carry different roles and different levels of investment and reciprocity. Some will be close friends, some acquaintances, some business-only connections. But some really deserve the label “spam risk.” I wish [non-commercial] social media posts would come with the same disclaimer.  

Take some time to sort through your relationships. What are you contributing? How are you benefitting? Do you need to up your game? Have some relationships outgrown their intended parameters and need pruning? And what do you intend to do with the ones that are labeled “spam risk”?
