You have greatness within. It may be hidden deep inside like socks that have lodged beneath the couch cushions. Maybe you know your greatness, but with the busyness of the ordinary, you’ve forgotten. Or maybe your greatness was squelched by others who told you not to be bigheaded.
I’m not in favor of bigheadedness either. But not recognizing your greatness leads to smallness and meanness. Insecurities, narcissism, pettiness, stinginess of soul. A poverty mindset leads to expectation of meager possibilities.
We need your greatness. And the greatness of the person next to you. We’re not whole without it. Would you please take some time this week to think about it? What is your superpower? (Call it “magnanimous” if that helps. Or generosity of soul. Or helpfulness or creativity.) How does it serve the world? What happens to the world without it? How can you live out that greatness in some way this week?
