This is a serious post about a whimsical subject – the Big Blue Bear outside the convention center in Denver.
This bear is one of the most creative sculptures I’ve seen. It takes the ordinary and spins it in a new way. (I’m also a fan of the Odell Beckham/Dirty Dancing/Touchdown celebration Pepsi commercial from a few years back. You have to understand the references to get it and I thought it was brilliant.)
This Bear is curious – peering through the convention center windows. “What’s in there? What are they doing in there? Can I go in there?” A replica of the bear alone doesn’t say anything. It’s all in the positioning of the object peeking in through the windows.
